Having previously already done majority of this paper, I found myself with the urge to leave class early. And when I say early, I mean fifteen minutes into a three-hour lecture. However, having promised myself to be more committed to my course work this year, I was very proud of myself when I decided to stick it through. Okay, I’m lying. I left half an hour early. But taking into account my commitment in previous years (or lack of it); this is a gargantuan improvement in discipline. Now, if only I could apply this new found motivation to my gym routine.
Week one of iReflect brought with it reassuring familiarity and some new bits and bobs, which came with the slight revamp of the Mahara interface. Some students found it hard to navigate their way through the labyrinth that is Mahara and surprisingly, this is where I found myself to be useful to Joe (an adorable elderly Chinese man sitting next to me) who was finding it a little difficult to create pages and granting access to others in our class. Although there were some language and communication problems, we managed to get there in the end!
Looking back on the progress I made over the course of the studio lecture, at the risk of jinxing myself, I can say so far, so good. Having so far completed all the tasks required and being up to date with work is actually quite satisfying. I’m experiencing an unfamiliar sense of accomplishment which is a huge contrast to mad panic I usually go through right before a deadline.
... Hmmm but am I speaking too soon?
